Holiday Gift Program

Each year, the Rotary Club of Naperville Sunrise, in cooperation with the Naperville School District, collects names of children who are in need of some Holiday spirit.  The Rotarians purchase gifts for over 350 children and wrap them in time for the holidays.   There really is a Santa Claus!

Leslie Day, the 2007 Chairperson, provides the inspiration to the club members about this worthwhile program.  The Rotary members have been very generous over the years providing over 350 gift packages in 2007, 273 gift packages and $4538 in funds in 2006, and 268 gift packages in 2005 (see below).

"Every year the Naperville Sunrise Rotary Chapter provides personally purchased Holiday gifts for children in need in the Naperville School District 203. These are the children that qualifying for the free lunch program.  The number of children has steadily grown over the last 4 years, from about 90 in 2002 to over 500 in 2007.

The program provides Holiday presents from $30 - $40 per child be purchased by sponsors, or cash provided to our Gift Team who is happy to shop with the provided funds. We are asking all Rotary members would like to assist us with funds or sponsorship. Interested members can contact Lesl at 630-251-3763 or lday@myprecisionhr.com to discuss options, and coordinate donations. Thanks so very much. HO! HO! HO!"

- Leslie Day, 2007 Chairperson
