On 4/23/08, Mike Albrow gave a presentation on all the things Fermilab has to offer the community.

The expansive property provides space for biking, hiking, fishing, cross country skiing, rollerblading, canoeing and ice skating.

In addition, Fermilab provides art exhibits, concerts and lectures, in addition to the educational activities.

Michael Halkias & Bruce Dixon
On the right, Michael Halkias draws a card for the 50/50 Raffle from Bruce Dixon.

Each week, members buy tickets.  A ticket is drawn from a hat and the ticket holder gets to draw a card from a deck of cards.  If the Queen of Hearts is selected, half of the pot is given to the person and the rest goes to club social events.  Any other card drawn is discarded.  Eventually, the queen will be drawn since a card is eliminated each week.

On 4/11/08, George Hood talked to the Rotary club about his efforts to break the Guinness world record for spinning (stationary bicycling).  George is raising funds for the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign.

The event will take place at the Fry Family YMCA from May 4-10, 2008.
