Youth Exchange Student

Kornel Sopow comes to us from Vertesszolos, Hungary in the Rotary District 1911. Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Naperville Sunrise, Kornel attends the Naperville North High School.

Rotary Exchange Student Kornel Sopow describes his native country Hungary by providing pictures of the notable buildings, museums, landscape, and culture. 

Kornel arrived in the United States in the middle of August 2008 and is hosted by the Rotary Club of Naperville Sunrise. As a Rotary Youth Exchange student, he will spend up to a year living with a few host families and attending school at Naperville North High School. 

He’ll learn a new way of living, a great deal about himself, and master the English language. He is also an ambassador of Hungary, teaching people he meets about his country, culture, and ideas. This can help bring the world closer – and make some good friends in the process.

Vocational Service

Vocational Service is the way Rotary fosters and supports the application of the ideal of service in the pursuit of all vocations.

Inherent in the Vocational Service ideal are:

1) Adherence to and promotion of the highest ethical standards in all occupations, including faithfulness and fidelity to employers, employees, and associates, and fair treatment of them and of competitors, the public, and all those with whom one has any business or professional relationships

2) The recognition of the worthiness to society of all useful occupations, not just one’s own or those pursued by Rotarians

3) The contribution of one’s vocational talents to the problems and needs of society

Our club supports these objectives through support of the Group Study Exchange (GSE), Ambassadorial Scholars, Youth Exchange, and Career Insights.
