Clean Sweep of the Ron Buonoro Garden at St. Patrick's Residence
St. Patrick’s Residence, located at 1400 Brookdale Rd. in Naperville is a nursing home and rehabilitation facility for the elderly located in a quiet, residential neighborhood in Naperville, Illinois. For over 40 years, the Sisters, their staff and volunteers have lovingly cared for individuals in the autumn of their years.
Each year, the Naperville Sunrise Rotary Club assists in the maintenance of their south patio to enhance the outdoor space for resident's, guests, and staff, in memory of Sunrise Rotarian and Paul Harris Fellow Ron Buonauro, who passed away in 2008. Ron was dedicated to the Carmelite Sisters at St. Patrick's Residence and spent many hours visiting with the aged and infirmed at St. Pat's.
The inaugural grant for this project was made possible through a partnership between The Rotary Club of Naperville-Sunrise, The Rotary Club of Naperville-Downtown (444 Club), the Buonauro Foundation, and Rotary District 6450.
Holiday Gift Giving Program
Each year, the Rotary Club of Naperville Sunrise, in cooperation with the Naperville School District, collects names of children who are in need of some holiday spirit. Rotarians purchase gifts for dozens of children and wrap them in time for the holidays.
Rotary members have been very generous over the years providing an average of 100 gift packages each year representing over $4,500 in funds. Each year, Naperville Sunrise Rotarians join this effort by personally purchasing gifts for children in need in Naperville School District 203.
